Ymagine is the brand name for the range of high quality pickled and oiled steel products manufactured on state-of-the-art equipment at the Direct Sheet Plant and high-speed pickling line of Corus Strip Products in IJmuiden.

Ymagine is a product that is different from traditional hot-rolled and cold-rolled materials. The unique properties of Ymagine, including narrow tolerances and excellent workability make the product comparable to cold rolled material. Ymagine can appeal to your imagination and offer designers, engineers and production managers a number of new possibilities. 

Presently the product range includes:

• a basic light gauge drawing grade Ymagine^® D1
• a structural steel Ymagine^® S1
• 5 high strength low alloy steels Ymagine^® H240, Ymagine^® H320, Ymagine^® H360, Ymagine^® H420 and Ymagine^® H500.

Ymagine focusses on thin-gauge drawing and HSLA applications and applications requiring very tight tolerances.

Thanks to the fact the material has tight geometrical control, homogeneous material properties and a low level of inclusions, Ymagine is suitable for virtually any application.

Market surveys show a great deal of interest among manufacturers of greenhouses, trolleys and storage racks in substituting Ymagine for ordinary steel products. Some customers are laser processing Ymagine, while others are using it as a substitute for cold-rolled coils in the production of tubes.

Most of the Ymagine grades are now available in the full dimensional range with a minimum thickness of 1 mm and width of maximum 1530 mm. Ymagine H420 and Ymagine H500 are still under development towards thinner gauges and larger widths. Product performance aspects such as gauge control, coil weight flexibility and lead times are continuously being improved to achieve and maintain the best levels available in the industry.
